We are thrilled to host Meet & Greet events with authors frequently in our bookstore. We also offer our space to larger groups for lectures or workshops after hours with prearrangement. If you would like us to consider a certain occasion, please e-mail an overview of the proposed event to Cynthia at firstname.lastname@example.org with several potential dates.
Some of the other functions we have hosted include art demonstrations, musical concerts, lunch time discussion groups, collaborative community events and private groups or parties.
Pilgrim’s Way Community Bookstore and Secret Garden partners with Carmel Bard, Taelen Thomas for the debut presentation of his newly-created work: “Birds: Poetry, Stories, Hoots and Whistles” at the Carmel Art Association.
Thomas brings his unique blend of storytelling and performance to explore: the dynamic lives of local pelicans; the mysterious and startling skills of the mockingbird; the hoots and habits of owls and loons; the table manners of young vultures (paired with a Robinson Jeffers poem); the songs, dances and under-the-river hikes of the American dipper; the deadly duel of hummingbirds; a stirring (though brief) duck opera; and an exploration of the hunting and courting rituals of the osprey. This is a truly special piece that is not to be missed by nature lovers, bird fans and fans of the authentic talent of Taelen Thomas.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
